Axle Shaft: Service and Repair
Axle Shaft

1.

With vehicle on ground, remove drive axle retaining nut from wheel assembly.

2.

Remove drive axle to transaxle drive flange attaching bolts.

3.

On all models except Quantum, separate ball joint from wheel bearing housing.

4.

On Quantum and Fox models equipped with manual transaxle, mark position of ball joint to right side control arm and separate ball joint from
control arm.

5.

On Quantum and Fox models equipped with automatic transaxle, mark position of ball joints to both right and left side control arms and separate
ball joints from control arms.

6.

On all models, pull wheel and tire assembly outward and remove drive axle from vehicle.

7.

Reverse procedure to install, torquing fasteners to specifications.
