Intake Manifold: Description and Operation

Intake Manifold

The Intake Manifold is made of cast aluminum and consists of two parts. The upper section includes the plenum chamber and part of the intake tracts.
The remaining intake tracts are in the lower section of the manifold which attaches directly to the cylinder head intake ports.

A distribution passage is cast into the lower section of the manifold. This passage supplies each cylinder with fuel from the cold start valve and air from
the idle air stabilization valve.

The fuel injector inserts are threaded into the lower section and the air hose for the air shrouded injectors is also connected here between cylinders #1
and #2.
