Verify correct vacuum hose routing as per illustration and tight fit on connections.
CAUTION
DO NOT use silicone spray to install hoses or oxygen sensor will be damaged.*

NOTE:
Engine Manifold vacuum must be checked at the

gray line disconnected from the EGR vacuum

amplifier *

Connect engine tester VAG 1367 for RPM indication.

Remove gray line from EGR vacuum amplifier and attach
vacuum pump to gray line. Start engine and let idle.

Read gauge on pump.

must be 15 - 18 in.HG*

If NOT check hoses, vacuum lines and T - pieces for leaks and ensure that the hoses are not kinked.*

Connecting vacuum test gauge incorrectly will result in permanent damage to vacuum gauge.
