From March 1993 production all vehicles have parking brake cables with rubber spacers located in the area of the rear axle (arrow).
The rubber spacers prevent contact between the cable and the rear axle.
When replacing parking brake cables use the following part numbers:
^ Part No. 1HM 6O9 721 - for drum brakes
^ Part No. 1HM 6O9 721A - for disc brakes
