Rear Wheel Housing Crash Sensors (4-door), Removing And Installing 

NOTE:  Removal and installation is described for the right-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the left-hand side is performed in the
same manner.

Removing 

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.

Disconnect vehicle battery

-

Remove seat bench.

Vehicles --> 06/2005 

-

Remove 4-door side upholstery:
-

with rear side airbags

-

without rear side airbags

-

Wheel housing trim, 4-door, removing

Vehicles with rear side airbag, 06/2005 --> 

-

Remove 4-door side upholstery:
-

with rear side airbags

-

Wheel housing trim, 4-door, removing

Vehicles without rear side airbag, 06/2005 --> 

-

Remove wheel housing trim on 4-door vehicles without rear side airbag

-

Press connector lock - 1 - toward rear - arrow - and disconnect connector - 2 - from crash sensor - 4 -.

-

Remove the two bolts - 3 - (9 Nm).
