Removing

-

Loosen drive axle bolt to wheel hub.

Note:  When doing this, vehicle must not stand on wheels, otherwise wheel bearing may be damaged.

Remove wheel.

-

Remove brake caliper and hang on body with wire.

-

Remove ABS wheel speed sensor.

-

Remove disc brake.

-

Remove cover plate from wheel bearing housing.

-

Loosen tie rod end nut, but do not remove yet.

To protect ball joint thread, install nut on a few turns to pin.

-

Press off tie rod end from wheel bearing housing using ball joint puller 3287A and then remove nut.

-

Press drive axle out of wheel hub (in direction of transmission) as far as possible.

-

Remove wheel bearing housing/suspension strut bolt connection - arrow -.
