Engine Accessory Bracket: Service and Repair

Accessory Bracket

Removing 

-

Drain coolant.

-

Remove ribbed belt.

GTI 

-

Remove charge air guide leading to the noise generator.

All 

-

Remove generator.

-

Disconnect the A/C compressor regulator valve - 1 -.

CAUTION!

Risk of injury from refrigerant. The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

Remove A/C compressor bolts - arrows -.

CAUTION!

Risk of damaging coolant lines and hoses. Do not stretch, kink or bend coolant lines and hoses. 

-

Tie up the compressor with the refrigerant lines attached to the longitudinal member.

-

Remove bolt - arrow - for the oil dipstick guide tube.

-

Remove bolts - 1 through 5 - and pull off the accessory bracket from the coolant pump housing.

Installing 

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
