The continuation of the work sequence is valid for all vehicles

Installing ignition switch
If the ignition switch has been removed, the distance -dimension "a"- between steering wheel and spring coil housing must be readjusted.
1. Steering wheel
2. Housing for spring coil
3. Clamping bolt for ignition switch

a - = approx. 2.5 mm (0.10 inch)

Install ignition switch.

Install steering wheel so that the marked line -arrow A- on the steering wheel and the center punch mark -arrow B- on the steering column align.

Steering columns supplied as replacement parts do not have a center punch mark.

Install bolts for steering wheel and tighten.

Align ignition switch horizontally.

-

Set gap -a- approx. 2.5 mm (0.10 inch).

Tighten clamping bolt -3-.

-

Remove steering wheel again.

-

Install trim, in reverse order.

-

Install bolts for steering wheel and tighten.
Multi point socket head bolt: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) 

-

Make one center punch mark on multi-point socket head bolt.

Multi-point socket head bolts that already have five center punch marks must be replaced!
