Flywheel/Drive Plate Bolts (10)

Tighten to: 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.) + 1/4 turn (90°).

Always replace.

REMOVAL

1. Remove ribbed drive belt.
2. Using counter hold tool No. 3273, or equivalent, to Lock vibration damper, remove vibration damper bolt, then the damper.
3. Unscrew inner part of oil seal extractor tool No. 3203, or equivalent, three turns (approx. 4 mm) out of the outer part and lock with knurled screw.
4. Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor, place it in position and while exerting firm pressure, screw it as far as possible into oil seal.
5. Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against crankshaft until the oil seal is pulled out.

INSTALLATION

1. Lightly oil sealing lip of oil seal.

2. Place guide sleeve from installer tool No. 3266/1, or equivalent onto crankshaft journal.
3. Slide oil seal over guide sleeve.

4. Press in oil seal up to stop with press sleeve from tool No. 3266, or equivalent.

To do this use an old vibration damper securing bolt.

5. Install vibration damper and lock using counter-hold tool.
6. Tighten new securing bolt to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) and then turn an additional 1/4 turn (90°) further.

NOTE:
-

Always use new securing bolt.

When tightening the securing bolt the crankshaft must not turn.

7. Install ribbed drive belt.
