Jetta CD-Prep, inspection

If vehicle is factory equipped with CD changer cable (location at left rear tail light assembly as shown):

Golf/jetta CD changer cable, installation

-

Remove radio using tool VW16O.

-

Remove passenger side knee bar (or tray if equipped).

-

Connect CD changer cable connector -1- to 8 pin terminal on rear of radio (upper right connector on radio).

-

Feed remaining CD changer cable into area removed passenger side knee bar (or tray) for routing.

Secure CD changer cable to existing wiring harness using supplied cable ties -3-, or use adhesive tape to route along metal framework.

Note: Ensure CD changer cable is secured in a manner to prevent rattles and squeaks.

Feed remaining CD changer cable into passengers footwell kick panel area for rout along passenger sill panel.

Reinstall radio and passenger side knee bar tray), making sure that CD changer cable is pinched.
