Radiator: Service and Repair
Radiator, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Refractometer T10007
^
Drip tray V.A.G. 1306
^
Torque wrench (5 ... 50 Nm) V.A.G. 1331
^
Spring-type clip pliers VAS 5024
Removing
-
Drain coolant.
-
Disconnect coolant hoses from radiator.

Disconnect connectors from thermal switch and coolant fan.

Remove front bumper
-
Bring lock carrier into service position:
Vehicles with air conditioning
Caution: The air conditioning system refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
Note: To prevent damage to condenser and to the refrigerant lines, ensure that the lines and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.

Remove retaining clamp(s) from refrigerant lines.

Unbolt condenser from radiator and secure to lock carrier.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order.
