Secure counterhold VW558 to drive plate with M8x45 hex bolt. Place two M10 hex nuts between counterhold tool and drive plate.

Installed position of counterhold- B - To tighten

Fit new bolts - 3 - and tighten to 30 Nm.

Check dimension - a - at three points and calculate average. Specification- 19.5 ... 21.1 mm 

Note:  Dimension - a - is measured through hole in drive plate to the milled surface of the cylinder block.

If the specification is not attained:
-

Remove drive plate again and install appropriate shim - 2 Retighten bolts - 3 - again to 30 Nm.

Tighten bolts - 3 - to 60 Nm and turn 90° (1/4) further.  
(turning further can be done in several stages).
