Engine - CO Checking Procedure/Altitude Correction

CO checking procedure/altitude correction
Prior to performing the basic % CO check of any VW engine, first ensure the following:

Engine oil temperature 80~C (176~F) minimum

All electrical consumers such as lights, air conditioning and radiator cooling fan are switched OFF

During the pre-delivery inspection, vehicle must be warmed up under load by driving for a short distance on the road.. This will ensure that accumulated
carbon deposits on the spark plugs and combustion chambers are cleaned off. Failure to do so will result in an incorrect CO reading.
