Switch the ignition off.
If the specified value was obtained:
Checking wiring
If the manufacturers test box is being used. Perform the following step.

Install the Adapter Cable (121-pin) (VAG1598/31)24 Removal and Installation.
If the manufacturers test box is not being used. Perform the following step.

Remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J220). Refer to --> [ Motronic Engine Control Module, Replacing ] See: Powertrain
Management/Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and Repair/Motronic Engine Control Module, Replacing.

Using a multimeter, check the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (G71) electrical harness connector terminal 4 to the Motronic Engine
Control Module (ECM) (J220) electrical harness connector T121 terminal 101 for resistance.

Check the wiring for an open circuit, high resistance, short circuit to each other, Battery (+), or Ground (GND).

Check the electrical harness connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals.

If necessary, repair the faulty wiring connection.
If no malfunction is detected in the wiring and if the voltage supply was OK:

Replace Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (G71).
If the specified value of 4.5 V was Not obtained:
If the manufacturers test box is being used. Perform the following step.

Install the Adapter Cable (121-pin) (VAG1598/31)24 Removal and Installation.
If the manufacturers test box is not being used. Perform the following step.

Remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J220). Refer to --> [ Motronic Engine Control Module, Replacing ] See: Powertrain
Management/Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and Repair/Motronic Engine Control Module, Replacing.

Using a multimeter, check the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (G71) electrical harness connector terminals to the Motronic Engine
