‹› Always evacuate refrigerant prior to opening refrigerant circuit.

Remove bolts --> [ 1 Bolts ] and disconnect refrigerant lines --> [ 2 Refrigerant lines on expansion valve ] from expansion valve.

Remove bolts --> [ 8 Combination bolt ] and remove expansion valve.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Charge refrigerant circuit using refrigerant recycling/recovery unit Kent-Moore ACR4 (or UL approved equivalent)

‹› 14 mm; 1.82 mm

‹› Coat with refrigerant oil when installing

O-ring

‹› 10.8 mm; 1.82 mm

‹› Coat with refrigerant oil when installing

O-ring

‹› 9.5 mm; 2.5 mm

Combination bolt

‹› 5 Nm

Expansion Valve, Function

‹› The expansion valve restricts and controls refrigerant flow to the evaporator thus lowering refrigerant temperature and pressure.
