Check DTC memory of new engine control module and erase DTC memory if necessary.

Special tools and equipment

VAG1551 scan tool or VAG1552 mobile scan tool with VAG1551/3B cable

Conditions

Authorized vehicle key required.

Work sequence

-

Connect VAG1551 scan tool or VAG1552 mobile scan tool with VAG1551/3B cable.

-

Switch ignition on.

-

Operate scan tool or vehicle system tester taking into account information on display:

-

Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer".

-

Press keys 1 and 7 for address word "instrument cluster" and confirm entry with Q key.

Confirm input with Q key.

Conclude adaption by pressing -> key.

Press keys 0 and 6 for function "End output" and confirm entry with Q key.

Switch ignition off.

NOTE:  The identity of the engine control module is read into the immobilizer control module when next switching the ignition on.
