Removal

Timing Chain Removal

Required Special Tools

-

3268 Camshaft Guide Tool

Preliminary Components:

-

Disconnect Battery.

-

Remove intake air box, please refer to: Vehicle/ Powertrain Management/ Fuel and Air Delivery/ Air Cleaner Housing/ Service and Repair/ See:
Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair.

-

Remove Throttle Body.

-

Remove Ignition Coil Packs.

-

Remove spark plugs. 

-

Remove Valve Cover, please refer to: Vehicle/ Engine/ Cylinder Head Assembly/ Valve Cover/ Service and Repair/ See: Cylinder Head
Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair.

Remove transmission,

NOTE: Support engine

Remove upper intake manifold, please refer to: Vehicle/ Engine/ Intake Manifold/ Service and Repair/ See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair.

Remove Clutch, please refer to: Vehicle/ Transmission and Drivetrain/ Clutch/ Service and Repair/ See: Transmission and
Drivetrain/Clutch/Service and Repair.

Remove Flywheel.
