Downshift Switch: Description and Operation

Kickdown switch -F8-

For On Board Diagnostic (OBD)
On vehicles without an accelerator cable, the kick-down switch signal is transmitted from the engine control module to the automatic transmission
control module.

On vehicles with CAN-bus the automatic transmission control module receives the kick-down signal from the CAN bus.

On vehicles without CAN-bus, the signal is received via a wire from the engine control module.
