Counter hold (VAS 3400) using 17 mm open end wrench. 

-

Tighten the free-wheeling ribbed belt pulley by turning the generator input shaft to the left using the (V.A.G 1332).

Tighten all fasteners to specified values. Refer to --> [ Generator Tightening Specifications ] See: Specifications/Mechanical
Specifications/Alternator/Generator Tightening Specifications.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Socket (VAS 3310)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332) (or corresponding 40 - 200 Nm)

Removing

-

Remove the generator.

-

Clamp the generator at the mounting points in a vise.

-

Use the (VAS 3310) to remove the ribbed belt pulley nut from the generator shaft.
