Separate connector - 1 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39.

-

Check resistance for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Heater Z19 at connector to Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39 terminal 3 + 4.

Specification: 2.5 to 10.0 Ohms (at room temperature)

If specification is not obtained:

-

Replace Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39 before catalytic converter

Erase DTC memory for Motronic engine control module J220.  See: Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/With Generic Scan
Tool/Diagnostic Mode 4: Reset/Erase Diagnostic Data

Generate readiness code.  See: Testing and Inspection/Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes/Readiness Code, Generating

If specification is obtained:

-

Connect test box to Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220 wiring harness.  See: Testing and Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic
Trouble Codes/Scan Tool Connecting/Test Box, Connecting For Wiring Test

-

Check wires between test box and 6-pin connector for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Wiring resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

Check wires for short circuit to each other, to B+ and Ground (GND).
Specification: Infinite Ohms

Check wiring between 6-pin connector terminal 4 and Fuel Pump (FP) Relay J17 for open circuit according to wiring diagram.
