Locking pliers

NOTE:  Before removing the Engine Control Module (ECM), obtain the control module identification as well as the coding of the control module

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove wiper arms and plenum chamber cover

-

Remove plenum chamber bulkhead

-

Cut heads of shear bolts so that two parallel surfaces remain - arrows -.

-

Remove bolts with locking pliers.

-

Insert screwdriver - A - between protective housing and retaining plate - arrow -.

-

Use screwdriver - A - to pry protective housing upward, and then pull it sideways off of retaining plate - arrow -.
