Replace faulty fuel injector N30, N31, N32, N33, N83
When installing fuel injector N30, N31, N32, N33, N83, observe the following:
-
Replace O-rings on all fuel injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, N83 and lightly moisten with clean engine oil.
-
Insert injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, N83 vertically and in correct position into fuel rail and secure with retaining clips.
-
The connectors must audibly engage in injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, N83 when pushed on.
-
Bleed fuel system.
-
Erase DTC memory for Motronic engine control module (ECM) J220. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool

Checking voltage supply
-
Connect diode test lamp V.A.G 1527 to connector of fuel injector N30, N31, N32, N33, N83 to be tested terminal, at 1 and Ground (GND).
-
Operate starter and check voltage supply for fuel injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, N83. LED must light up
-
Switch off ignition.
If LED does not light up:
-
Check wire between 2-pin connector terminal 1 and respective fuse (SB 30) for open circuit according to wiring diagram.
Wiring resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms
Actuation and voltage supply, checking
-
Connect diode test lamp V.A.G 1527 to connector terminals of fuel injector N30, N31, N32, N33, N83 to be checked.
-
Operate starter and check actuation of fuel injectors N30, N31, N32, N33, N83.
LED must flicker.
-
Switch off ignition.
If LED does not flicker:
-
Connect test box to Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220 wiring harness. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and
