Disconnect 6-pin harness connector (black) - 1 - to Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39 before catalytic converter.

-

Check wires between test box and 6-pin connector for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Wiring resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

Check wires for short circuit to each other, to B+ and Ground (GND).
Specification:Infinite Ohms

If no malfunction is detected in wiring:

Replace Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) G39 before catalytic converter

Erase DTC memory for Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220.  See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing

‹› When servicing terminals in the electrical harness connector of Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39), use only gold-plated terminals.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Multimeter.

‹› Wiring diagram.

Test requirements

‹› Fuse (SB45) OK.

‹› Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.
