Installing

To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

Upholstery Clip Pliers (V.A.G. 1634) are required to install new upholstery clips.

‹› Removal and installation of components is described for right backrest. The same instructions apply for removal and installation of components

for left backrest.

Removing

Vehicles with folding armrest storage unit

-

Remove storage unit with center armrest. Refer to --> [ Storage Unit with Center Armrest ] See: Storage Unit With Center Armrest.

All vehicles

-

Remove seat bench. Refer to --> [ Seat Bench, Sedan ] See: Service and Repair/Rear Seats/Seat Bench, Sedan.

Remove the backrest. Refer to --> [ Backrest ] See: Service and Repair/Rear Seats/Backrest.

If present, lock the backrest control with latch - 1 -. 

-

Press corresponding button in headrest guide and pull headrest -  2 - out of backrest.
