To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

Connect vehicle battery..

‹› Removal and installation is described for the right-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the left-hand side is performed in the

same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags. Refer to --> [ Airbag Safety Precautions ] See: Service Precautions.

Disconnect vehicle battery.

Remove side upholstery with side airbag - 1 -. Refer to --> [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and
Repair/Rear Seats.

Remove the two bolts - 2 - (9 Nm).

‹› Bolts are microencapsulated and must be replaced after each loosening. 

‹› Before installing the new bolts, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

Remove connector coupling of rear side airbag - 3 - from mount in side upholstery - 1 -.

-

Remove rear side airbag - 3 - from side upholstery.
