Update Programming, MIL ON, DTCs P0420 and/or P0300 - P0306 Stored in ECM Fault Memory
One or more of the fault codes in the table above may be stored in the ECM Fault Memory.
Note:
^
DO NOT diagnose or replace components due to misfire BEFORE performing the update function as explained in this bulletin.
^ DO NOT diagnose or replace catalytic converter BEFORE performing the update function as explained in this bulletin.
Technical Background
Monitoring strategy for catalytic converter is too sensitive causing unnecessary catalytic converter replacements. Engine misfire diagnostic strategy is
adjusted for better catalyst protection. Updated programming of the ECM software is based on most recent engineering experiences and makes this
knowledge available for the monitoring strategy.
Production Solution
No production change required.
