Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
‹› Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 6362)

Always follow these instructions before and during work.
Removing
-
Disconnect fuel lines to the fuel tank:
A Fuel supply line, black
B Fuel return line, blue or with a blue marking

Seal lines so that the fuel system is not contaminated by dirt etc.

Loosen spring clips with the spring clip pliers (VAS 6362) and remove the fuel hoses --> [ 6 Fuel Supply Line ] See: Fuel Filter Assembly

Seal lines so that the fuel system is not contaminated by dirt etc.

Remove bolt or nut. Refer to --> [ item 11, 8 Nm ] See: Fuel Filter Assembly Overview.

Remove fuel filter upward.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
‹› Bolt or nut tightening specification, refer to --> [ item 11, 8 Nm ] See: Fuel Filter Assembly Overview.
‹› Route fuel hoses kink-free.
