Starter, 2.5L and Automatic Transmission

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331) (or corresponding 5 - 50 Nm)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332) (or corresponding 40 - 200 Nm)

‹› Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 5024)

CAUTION!
When disconnecting and connecting battery, the procedure must be followed as described in the Repair information. Refer to --> [
Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] . 

Removing

-

Disconnect the battery. Refer to --> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] .

Pull engine cover upward - arrows -.

-

Disconnect harness connector - 1 -, loosen spring-type clamp - 2 - using (VAS 5024) and disconnect vacuum hose - 3 -.

-

Pull off air filter housing upward out of brackets and remove it.
