Flywheel: Service and Repair

Sealing Flange and Flywheel Assembly Overview

Seal

‹› Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal

‹› Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

‹› Seal for crankshaft - ribbed belt side, replacing --> [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Seals and

Gaskets/Front Crankshaft Seal/Service and Repair.

Sealing Flange

‹› Must be located on dowel sleeves

‹› Removing and installing, refer to --> [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Cylinder Block

Assembly/Sealing Flange, Engine Front/Service and Repair. 

‹› Insert with silicone sealant (D 176 404 A2) --> [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Cylinder Block

Cylinder block
