Connect test box VAG 1598/31 to control module wiring harness. Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220- is not connected by this action.

Check wiring for open circuit between test box and 3-pin connector using Electrical Wiring Diagram.

terminal 1 + socket 80

terminal 2 + socket 25

-

Wire resistance: Max. 1.5 Ohms

-

Additionally check wire for short to battery positive (B+) and Ground.
Specification: Infinity Ohms

Check wire for open circuit between 3-pin connector terminal 3 and Fuel Pump (FP) relay -J17- using Electrical Wiring Diagram.
Wire resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

If no wiring problems are detected:

-

Replace Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-.

Activating Recirculating Valve for Turbocharger -N249-:

If the solenoid valve does not click:
