Clutch Slave Cylinder: Service and Repair

Clutch slave cylinder, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment

V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench
^
Filling and bleeding apparatus for brakes VAS 5234 brake filler and bleeder unit.
Removing
^
Check whether a coded radio is fitted. If so, obtain anti-theft coding.
^
With ignition switched off disconnect battery Ground strap.
^
Place a sufficiently large lint-free cloth under clutch slave cylinder.
^
Fully remove retaining clip -A-, which secures pipe/hose, from slave cylinder.
^
Remove pipe/hose assembly from housing -C- in transmission.
^
Separate pipe/hose assembly -B- from cylinder and seal openings.
^
Remove screws from slave cylinder -arrows- and remove cylinder.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence. When installing note the following:

Lubricate end of plunger with lubricating grease MoS2
