CAUTION:

Front Advanced Airbags on the passenger side of a New Beetle Sedan or Convertible, that have only deployed the first stage, can cause
serious personal injury if the second stage deploys inadvertently.

Always carefully follow safety precautions when working on airbag systems or handling airbag units that have not deployed or have not
deployed completely.

Never throw front Advanced Airbag units for the passenger side of a New Beetle Sedan or Convertible in the trash or in with other
materials that are to be scrapped
Characteristics of vehicles with "Advanced Airbag System" :
a. Vehicles with "Advanced Airbag System"
b. Vehicles without "Advanced Airbag System"
Accident where airbag deployed
After replacing airbag units or airbag control module, labels (only tear-off strips) of new components must be attached to "registration card 2 for airbag
systems". To register send "Registration card 2 for airbag systems" to manufacturer.
Always replace the following:

All deployed airbag units with control modules and sensors

Supports for passenger module
-
Return spring with slip ring
-
All seatbelts with belt tensioners that have been triggered
-
If necessary (visual check) also replace the following: all damaged components
