Bleeding brake system, vehicles with ABS Mark 60 from 10.00

Bleeding the brake system is described using brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234.

Special point regarding vehicles with ABS/EDL, ABS/EDL/ASR and ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP

When at least one chamber in the brake fluid reservoir is completely empty (e.g. leaks in braking system) the brake system must be pre-bled.

Afterwards, the hydraulic unit must be bled again using the function in "Basic settings". 

Start basic settings 
Connect VAS5051 and select function.

Bleed the brake system afterwards.

Special point regarding vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP 

After bleeding the brake system, the Brake pressure sensor 1 G201 must be zero-balanced.

Connect VAS5051 and select function.

After bleeding the brakes, a road test must be carried out. There must be at least one ABS-regulation carried out!

CAUTION: When topping off brake fluid, with the brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234 make sure that a filling pressure of 1 bar is not
exceeded.

Therefore the brake fluid pressure on brake filler and bleeder unit VAS 5234 must be regulated down to 1 bar.

If the filling pressure exceeds 1 bar it cannot be guaranteed that the hydraulic unit is bled adequately.

CAUTION: Brake fluid is poisonous.

CAUTION:

Due to its corrosive nature, brake fluid must not come into contact with paint.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it absorbs moisture from air and therefore must be replaced every two years.

^

Only use new brake fluid B 000 700 A. (enter container index for decimal point).

Wash off brake fluid spillage using plenty of water.

Do not use silicone-based brake fluid (DOT 5). Even the smallest traces can cause severe corrosion in the brake system.
