Loosen double clamp - A - and slide to rear.

-

Remove tunnel bridge - B - located beneath exhaust system.

-

Remove heat shields - C - and - D -.

-

First remove 4 nuts - arrows A -.

-

Then remove 2 bolts - arrows B -.

-

Carefully slide cover with protective covering forward over selector lever cable.

Note:  Do not damage the protective covering when sliding it forward over the selector lever cable. Position the selector lever - 3 in the Tiptronic gate
- arrow A - before starting the next work sequence.

Pry selector lever cable - 2 - off selector lever - 3 - using a screwdriver - arrow B -.

-

Pull locking plate - 1 - for selector lever housing/selector lever cable out downward.

-

Carefully pull selector lever cable out of selector lever housing.

Installing 
Installation is performed in the reverse sequence of removal. In the process, note the following:

Note:  Check protective sleeve for damage; the protective sleeve can only be changed together with the selector lever cable. Check that the protective
sleeve is correctly installed. Do not install protective sleeve twisted. Do not grease eye and ball socket. Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
Position selector lever cable - 3 - in Tiptronic gate - arrow A -.
