Mark installation position of bolts -1-.
^
Remove bolts -1-.
^
Tie-up drive shaft as high as possible. Do not damage paint on drive shaft.
^
Remove flanged shaft securing bolts by screwing two bolts into flange and counterhold flanged shaft using a lever.
^
Place container under transmission.
^
Remove flanged shaft with spring.
^
Pull flanged shaft oil seal out using VW 771 and VW 771/37.
Installing
^
Drive new seal in onto stop, do not tilt seal when doing this.
^
Fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with grease G52 128 A1.
^
Insert flanged shaft.
^
Secure flange shaft with countersunk bolt.
^
Connect ball joint to control arm using new bolts onto old impression marks.
^
Bolt left-hand drive shaft to flanged shaft.
^
Install wheel.
^
Check transmission oil.
^
Install sound insulation tray.
Tightening torque
Flanged shaft to transmission (conical head bolt) .................................................................................................................................................. 25 Nm
