Requirements

Transmission must not be in emergency running mode

Vehicle level
-
Selector lever in position "P", engine running at idling speed

Air conditioning system and heater switched off
-
Vehicle Diagnosis and Information System VAS 5051 connected] vehicle self-diagnosis and vehicle system "02 -transmission electronics" selected

The ATF temperature must not be more than approx. 30°C at the start of this procedure. The transmission must be allowed to cool first if
necessary.
Note:

The ATF temperature is read by the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.
^
The ATF level changes as the ATF temperature changes.
^
Checking the ATF level when the ATF temperature is too low leads to overfilling.
^
Checking the ATF level when the ATF temperature is too high leads to under filling.
