‹› Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051B)

Procedure

-

In (VAS 5051B), select operating mode " Guided Fault Finding".

Using the Sprung button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in the following sequence: 

‹› Body

‹› Electrical Equipment

‹› 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems

‹› Sound System

‹› Sound System functions

‹› Activate anti-theft coding on Volkswagen radio systems 

General Information

The anti-theft coding electronically prohibits unauthorized individuals from starting the unit again after it has been removed.

This anti-theft code is also called the radio code of security code. 

Security code means that every unit with anti-theft coding has been programmed with its own code.

This security code is not active from the factory.

If a device card is available, the security code is on it.

 Or, if the device card is not available, the security code can be requested from the central database using the diagnostic tester => [ Radio Code,
Requesting with Diagnostic Tool ]. 

‹› If SAFE is shown on the display after turning on the radio, the radio is locked!

‹› The radio must be left switched on for an hour, at which point it becomes unlocked. Now it is possible to enter the code.

‹› If the security code is entered incorrectly two times, the unit is locked for an hour. 

‹› Remember: two attempts to enter the code, then the unit is locked for one hour.

‹› The units are equipped with an electronic anti-theft protection that works in conjunction with the instrument cluster.

‹› After disconnecting the radio or navigation system voltage supply, it is ready for operation after reconnecting to the power supply without entering

the security code again. 

‹› The requirement for this is that the electronic anti-theft protection has been activated for the first time and that the unit is reconnected in the same

vehicle.
