Auxiliary Jack Connector for Accessories Becomes Detached
The auxiliary jack connector located in the glove box fascia may become detached due to excessive force being applied while plugging in accessories.
Customer unable to connect iPod.
Technical Background
One or both of the glove box fascia locking tabs securing the auxiliary connector is broken.
Production Solution
Final production countermeasure pending.
Service

Partially remove glove box to gain access to the loose aux. jack connector.
Tip:
Access to hidden glove box screws may be obtained by lowering the accessory switch panel below the H.V.A.C. controller.

Apply 3M(TM) Quick Fix Adhesive part number 08155 to the broken inner tabs (indicated by white lines) and the aux. jack connector.
^
Insert connector inside tabs, push down until contact is made with the glove box surface.
^
Gently squeeze tabs until adhesive sets (approx. 1 minute).
