Remove hose clamps up to 25 mm dia. (3094) from intake line and return line.

Start engine and top off fluid level in reservoir if necessary.

Turn steering wheel from stop to stop approximately 10 times.

Check pumping pressure.
Test Requirements
‹› Ribbed belt/ribbed belt tension OK.
‹› Sealing of system
‹› Hoses/lines are not kinked or constricted

With engine at idle speed, close stopcock (not more than 5 seconds) and read pressure.
Specified values
Gasoline engines: 85 to 95 bar
Diesel engines: 96 to 105 bar
‹› If specification is not reached or exceeded, replace pump:
‹› Removing and installing power steering pump, vehicles with low-mounted power steering pump => [ Low Mounted Power Steering Pump ] See:

‹› If power steering fluid is low in the servo fluid reservoir, check steering system for leaks.
