‹› Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)
‹› Crankshaft adapter (T03003)
‹› Locking pin (T40069)
Locking the crankshaft for checking/adjusting valve timing. Refer to => [ Crankshaft, Locking to Check/Adjust Valve Timing ] See: Crankshaft,

Procedure

Remove the noise insulation.

Remove the front part of the right front wheel housing liner.

Install the (T03003) onto the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper.
(T03003) can only be installed correctly in one position.

Rotate the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation - arrow - far enough until arrow - A - on the (T03003) points downward vertically,
relative to the engine axis.
This position corresponds approximately to the Top Dead Center (TDC) position of the crankshaft at cylinder 5.
‹› With the engine removed, the TDC marking can also be seen on the belt pulley and belt pulley side sealing flange. Notches - A and B - must align.
