Valve Guide: Testing and Inspection

Insert a new valve into the guide. The valve stem tip must seal with the guide. Due to differences in valve stem diameters, make sure that only
intake valves are used to check the intake valve guides, and only exhaust valves are used to check the exhaust valve guides.

Determine tilt clearance.

Wear limit: 0.8 millimeter (mm)

If tilt clearance is exceeded:

Replace the cylinder head.
