‹› Do not touch the glass of the light bulb, when installing. Your fingers will leave traces of grease on the glass which, when the light is

switched on, will evaporate and cloud the glass.

‹› When installing cap, ensure proper seating. It is destroyed by ingress of water into headlamp.

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Install the new bulb so that retaining tabs on the lamella disc lie in cut-outs in reflector.

Check headlamp for function.

-

Check headlamp adjustment and adjust the headlamps.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (VAG 1331)

‹› Removing and installing the right carrier plate is shown in the illustrations. 

‹› The adjusting mechanisms on the carrier plate make it possible to correct the position of the headlamp.

CAUTION!
‹› Turn off the ignition and all electrical components.

‹› Remove the ignition key.

Removing

-

Remove bolt - 1 -.

-

Counterhold the adjusting mechanisms and remove the screws -  4 - and - 5 -.

-

Remove the carrier plate and wire guide forward.
