Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
Heater/Evaporator Unit, Disassembly and Assembly
Removing
First do the following:

Discharge refrigerant system

Drain coolant
-
Disconnect refrigerant lines at condenser/expansion valve

Disconnect coolant hoses from heater core
CAUTION!

Immediately plug open connections on A/C components to prevent dirt and moisture contamination.

The cooling system is pressurized when the engine is warm. Wear gloves and other protection and carefully release system pressure if
necessary, before performing repairs.

Remove instrument panel
-
Loosen instrument panel cross member, refer Fig. 5 in "Heating and Ventilation System, Assembly" See: Service and Repair

Remove heater/evaporator unit

Heater core
-
Always use new coolant after replacement
