Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair
Without Anti-Lock Brakes

To bleed brake system, use bottle with a transparent hose attached so that brake fluid can be checked for air bubbles.

1. Connect brake filling and bleeding tool US 1116 or equivalent per manufacturers instructions.
2. On models with brake booster, ensure that engine is Off, then disconnect vacuum hose/check valve from brake booster.
3. On models with brake pressure regulator, push lever on brake pressure regulator in direction of rear axle.
4. Bleed brakes in following sequence:

a. Right rear wheel cylinder/caliper, left rear wheel cylinder/caliper, right front caliper, then left front caliper.
b. After bleeding, fill reservoir to maximum mark.

5. On models with brake booster, reconnect vacuum hose/check valve to brake booster.
