Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection
Idle Stabilizer Valve
Idle Stabilizer Diagram

Remove the idle stabilizer valve harness connector.

Measure the resistance between the two terminals of the idle stabilizer valve.

The correct measurement should be 4 ohms - 12 ohms.

If NOT: Replace the idle stabilizer valve.

Reconnect the idle stabilizer valve harness connector.
-
The idle stabilizer valve should hum and vibrate slightly when the ignition is turned "ON".

If NOT: The Electronic Control Module (ECM) or harness may be defective.
