Premium VI Radio, Controls Do Not Respond

Supersedes T.B. Group 91 Number 01-04 dated Nov. 7, 2001 

Condition

Radio inoperative, controls do not respond, alarm LED (Light Emitting Diode) remains ON at all times.

Service

-

Remove fuse 42 from fuse panel for 5 to 10 seconds and reinstall.

-

Switch radio ON.

-

Tune to local FM radio station.

-

Operate radio volume control.

-

Turn radio volume to MINIMUM, verify beep is present.

If beep is present:

-

Increase radio volume.

If radio volume increases properly with control knob.

-

Replace radio.

After replacing radio:

-

Connect VAS 5051 Diagnostic Tool.

-

Erase any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) that may be caused by radio malfunction.
