Idle Speed: Adjustments
Idle Speed (RPM), adjusting
In exceptional cases, for example if the customer complains about droning noises or vibrations when idling, it is permissible to make slight adjustments
in the idle speed (RPM). When doing so, do not adjust the idle speed (RPM) outside the range specified in the Emissions Test binder (otherwise, the
vehicle will not pass its next emissions test).
Special tools and equipment

V.A.G 1551 scan tool (or VAG 1552 mobile scan tool) with VAG 1551/3B cable
Test requirements

No DTCs in DTC memory
-
Coolant temperature must be at least 80 °C, See display group 04, display field 3
Procedure

Connect V.A.G 1551 scan tool (VAG 1552). Start engine and select the Engine Control Module (ECM) using address word 01. (connecting scan
tool and selecting ECM).

Press 1 and 0 for the function "Adjustment", and then press Q to exit from input mode.

Press buttons -0- and -1- to select channel number 1 and then press -Q- button to confirm input.
