Clutch Fluid: Service and Repair

Clutch system, bleeding 

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

-

VAS 5234 Brake filling and bleeder unit

-

Brake fluid specifications.

Note:

Open bleeder valve before operating bleeder unit.

Clutch pedal is not operated.

-

Connect brake filling and bleeder unit VAS 5234.

-

Remove insulation tray below engine/transmission, if installed.

-

Connect bleed hose -A- to slave cylinder (-arrow-) and open bleed valve.

-

Now switch on bleeder unit and let about 100 cm3 brake fluid run out.

Brake fluid must not be allowed to get onto the transmission.

Depress clutch pedal several times after completion of bleeding process.
