Connect multimeter with test leads to terminals 1 and 6 connector for voltage measurement (terminal 30).

Specified value: at least 11.5V 

If specified value is not obtained:

-

Locate and repair open circuit using wiring diagram:

-

Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM). 

-

Generate readiness code. 

If specified value is obtained:

-

Connect multimeter with test leads to terminals 3 and 6 connector for voltage measurement (terminal 15).

-

Switch ignition on.

Specified value: at least 11.5V 

-

Switch ignition off.

If specified value is not obtained:

-

Locate and repair open circuit using wiring diagram:

-

Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM). 

-

Generate readiness code. 

If there is no malfunction in voltage supply:

-

Check wire to Engine Control Module (ECM) according to wiring diagram.

Checking wire to Engine Control Module (ECM)

Connect test box to 94-pin connector of wiring harness. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and
General Diagnostics/Component Tests (VAG Code Tests)/Test Box, Connecting For Wiring Test

Engine Control Module (ECM) is not connected.
