Passat Sedan V6-2.8L (ATQ) (2000)
1) The quantity of coolant can vary depending upon the vehicle equipment.
Work sequence

Replace coolant drain plug O-ring and screw coolant drain plug into engine again.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm

Install lower coolant hose and secure.

Screw adapter VAG 1274/8 with adapter VAG1274/10 onto expansion tank.

Loosen both bleeder screws on coolant hoses.

Loosen coolant hose on heat exchanger and pull back hose sufficiently so that bleeder hole -arrow- is no longer sealed by connection.

Top up coolant until it flows out of bleeder hole in coolant hose and bleeder screws on coolant hoses.

Push coolant hose on connection and tighten.

Screw bleeder screws tight on coolant hoses.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm

Fit expansion tank cap.

Switch off heater and air conditioner.

Start engine and maintain an engine speed of about 2000 rpm for approximately 3 minutes.

Allow engine to run at idling speed until lower hose on radiator becomes hot.

Check coolant level and top-up if necessary. When engine is at normal operating temperature, coolant level must be on max. mark and between
min. and max. marks when engine is cold.
